Purpose

• Serve as the vehicle for volunteers and staff to jointly contribute to the development of our Council camp;
• All matters dealing with a “Council” camp to be overseen by a “Council” entity;
• Program initiatives as well as facility maintenance and development to be included in mandate;

Mandate

• Create, implement and monitor short, medium and long term business plans;
• Gather program requirements from user groups,
• Determine facility upgrades or development to meet the program requirements;
• Determine facility maintenance to ensure continued secure accommodations and safe delivery of available programs;
• Assist in the promotion of the camp to user groups (Scouting and non-Scouting users), includes development of promotional materials, presentations to future clients, organizing a traveling road show;
• Provide input in the development of the operational/summer budgets;
• Assist in securing funds for implementation of plan (grant applications, fundraisers);

Accountable To:

Council Management Committee through the Property Manager

Membership

• Chaired by Property Manager (as rep of CC and CED)

• 3 to 6 adult volunteers (including 1 rep from OPE Scouting Group)

• OPE Scouting Group Commissioner

• 2 youth members

• Camp Warden (as on-site rep of Property Manager)

• Approved by CC and CED
